Bible Reading: Numbers 33-34; Mark 5:1-21
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things.” – Romans 10:15.
In life, It is important who you listen to because what you hear determines the direction that your life takes. God has connected the quality of life you live to the quality of the message that you hear from your pastors, preachers or ministers of the gospel. This is how our real identity is developed over time.
Our text talks about the beautiful feet of those called to preach the gospel because we know a good message by the feet of the preacher or minister of the gospel. A preacher is like a farmer who sows words as seeds in your heart and in the days of the Bible, farmers primarily used their feet to plant their grains. Today the preachers’ feet are their mouths. As a child of God, you must watch the kind of seed that is constantly being planted in your heart.
If a preacher is not sowing ‘beautiful seeds’ then change ‘who’ you are listening to because you cannot have a beautiful harvest without beautiful seeds.
Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. This verse sums it all. The key to trusting or believing is in listening, but what you listen to is also important. You should listen to Jesus – not the traditions and philosophies of men. What you hear should reveal Christ to you in all His beauty. It should reveal to you what is yours and how to take it because the beautiful feet will eventually produce beautiful live.
Prayer: Thank you Father for giving us preacher’s and ministers of the gospel after your heart.
