…Spreading the gospel of Christ

TOPIC: DO YOU HAVE A PLAN
Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 23 & 24. Luke 19:1-24.

“And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.” – Luke 19:4 (KJV)

We all have dreams of what we would like to be. The dream may be small or big; nonetheless it is important as a foundation on which structures can be built. A dream or a foundation without any structure on it remains a dream and after sometime if nothing is done, even the foundation may become useless!

In the book of Luke 19:1-10, that we read, Zacchaeus was a rich man who wanted to see Jesus for his salvation. He then reviewed the situation (that Jesus was coming but there would be a crowd) and identified his own limitation (that he was short and may not see Jesus in the crowd). He identified the options available to him to be able to see Jesus. He probably thought of staying on top of a nearby house, someone lifting him up, using horses or climbing a tree. He finally chose the option of climbing a tree. Then he found out when Jesus would be around and the bible says in Luke 19:4 (KJV), “And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.” When Jesus got to where he would meet with the people, he looked up and in Luke 19:9 (KJV), “And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.” Thus Zacchaeus was able to fulfill his dream.

What is your dream and what plans do you have to achieve your dream? It is not enough to have a dream, you need to pray to God for guidance, then ascertain your strength and weaknesses, identify various alternatives available to you to achieve the objectives, prayerfully ascertain the best of the alternatives and implement it. While prayer is seeking the face of God on direction, the action has to be taken for the blessing to follow.

Action Point: Examine your dreams and prayerfully emplace plans to achieve them.
