Bible Reading: Zechariah 1-3; Revelation 17.
Memory Verse: “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14 (KJV).
Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy that prayers be made for all men as this is good and acceptable in the sight of God, who desires that all men know the truth and be saved. (1 Timothy 2:1-4). But a number of people hear the gospel of our Lord Jesus and refuse to heed His call. Others heed the call temporarily and after some time, they go back to their vomit as shown in the parable of the sower ( Matthew 13:19-23). No wonder the Lord Jesus himself said in Matthew 22:14 (KJV), “For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Out of all those who heard the call, a few that accepted the word, decided to obey God and bore fruit of the Spirit are those chosen by God. They are chosen because they yield themselves to the calling of the Lord. Now having been chosen, they need to be resolute to face the various challenges of life. Some of the challenges may involve persecutions, trials and temptations amongst others. For example; Shadrach Meshach and Abednego ( Daniel 3:14-26) were tried and thrown into lake of fire because of their refusal to worship an idol! But God showed up for them. God Almighty will show up for you and your current challenge shall be resolved today in Jesus mighty name.
If you do not belong to the group of the called, chosen and faithful, then you will belong to the group of the wicked who will join forces with Satan to fight the Lord Jesus for supremacy. But since all powers in heaven and earth had been given to our Lord Jesus Christ, he will overcome satan completely. This is stated in Revelation 17:14 (KJV), “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”
To be part of the winning side from here till eternity, you need to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and remain faithful to him till the end. Those who do not persevere till the end will end up in hell fire.
Prayer point: Father, please give me the grace to remain faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ till the end in Jesus Christ name.
