Memory Verse: “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:7 (KJV)
Today, Christians all over the world are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ whose birth was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14, about 700 years before he was born. As people eat delicacies all over the world in celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour, it is imperative that the import of His coming is not lost on us. He came to the world to redeem us from sins in order for us to get a waiver of the consequences. That is why He said that He has come to the world to give us abundant life though satan came to the world to steal, kill and destroy.( John 10:10). However His redemption is on individual basis. So while you are having fun today, it is important to do things that will make the Lord Jesus who is being celebrated, rejoice and that is, saving people from hell.
However, before you preach salvation to others, ask yourself the question, whether you are saved? Have you accepted Jesus CHRIST as your Lord and Saviour? Does your work, social interactions and general living reflect that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour? Do you show His love in all you do and who you are? Jesus said in John 13:34-35 (KJV), “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” Do people around know you for who you are and are they positively impacted by that? What is their testimony concerning you?
Having convinced yourself that you belong to Christ, then you need to do what will make the Lord rejoice in heaven. This is furthering the purpose of His coming by depopulating the kingdom of darkness through winning souls to the kingdom of God. Remember Luke 15:7 (KJV), “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” You can do this by going out physically to evangelise or you can send messages to your contacts or specific people you target about the Lord Jesus Christ and the need for them to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. You can also join an outreach and talk to people about the urgent need to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
