…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 26/12/2025

Topic:  You are the Apple of God’s eye

Bible Reading: Zechariah 1-3; Revelation 17.

Memory Verse: “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.” Zechariah 2:8 (KJV).

God is love and He loves all his creation. He loves unconditionally and that is why He sent His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. He states the features of His love for us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. So God cherishes every human being and that’s why He sent His only son to die for us and take away all our sins and bear the consequences of those sins so that we may have a clean bill in every area of our lives.

The love of God is present even when you are in sin because He does not want any sinner to die unrepented. That is why the Lord Jesus narrated the parable of the prodigal son who spent his inheritance wastefully but later came to the realisation and repented of his wastefulness and came back to his father. As his father saw him from afar off, he ran towards him,  embraced him and treated him to a sumptuous meal! This is how God treats all those who genuinely  repent of their sins and come to him for salvation.  Jesus Christ Himself made a call on all saying, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (KJV).

And when you are with God, He treats you like the apple of His eye. He stated this to the Israelites after they returned to Him in Zechariah 2:8 (KJV), “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.”

God sees you as the apple of His eye once you return unto Him and remain obedient to His commandments. Have you fully surrendered to Him or have you backslided? Why not take the steps taken by the prodigal son by repenting of your sins, forsaking them and living in obedience to the word of God and you shall become an apple of God’s eye and you will be well protected henceforth! In order to maintain that position, you also need to study your Bible more often so that you can know God by yourself and not based on just what you hear from others. In addition, you will need to ensure you commune with Him more closely just like a good son communicates with his father such that over time both of them can easily recognise each other’s voice. Similarly, you will be able to recognise God’s voice and your life will never remain the same again as He will give you instructions on every area of your life through the Holy Spirit that will be indwelling in you and would be able to face any situation confidently knowing that you have the leading of the Almighty God.

As you prepare to go into the new year, this will be a good position to take so that you can navigate 2026 as more than a conqueror. May you finish 2025 strong and start 2026 stronger in Jesus name.

Prayer point: Father help me to get closer to You as I continue my race in this world in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
