Bible Reading: Nehemiah 7: Titus: 1-7
“That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life” – Titus 3:7 (KJV).
Rather than conviction, we where justified. We got what we did not deserve, that is simply grace. Mercy took from us the wrath, conviction and death that we deserved while grace gave to us the justification, the forgiveness, the righteousness and the peace with God that we do not deserve.
To be justified is to be discharged and acquitted, to be declared not guilty, to drop the charges against us. Man was justified freely by grace. We didn’t have to pay for bailing or to have the charges against us dropped; we didn’t have to pay to regain our freedom. Jesus, the son of God, set us free and now we are free indeed. Free from condemnation, free from the penalty of sin, free from the power and dominion of sin, free from death, free from the curse of the law and the consequences of violating God’s law. Free from every entanglement, free to live for God and his kingdom, free from chains and slavery to satan and his cohorts. We are free indeed! It is just as if we have not sinned. Righteousness of Christ is imputed into our life and a new account opened for us, simply by faith in the redemptive work of Christ.
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” – Romans 5:1 (KJV). We now have access to God by faith. We can now access the blessings of the kingdom. The guilt is removed and righteousness is imputed. We are accepted by God and now we can fellowship with him as members of his family and heirs with Christ. We can access our inheritance being made heirs of God and joint hears with Christ. We now can partake in the Christ-life, eternal life.
PRAYER: Thank you Jesus for the gift of justification.
