Topic: Leveling Mountains
Bible Reading: Zechariah 4-6; Revelation 18.
Memory Verse: “Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.” Zechariah 4:7 (KJV)
Mountains generally require a lot of effort to bring it low and sometimes the effort may not bring down the mountain! Generally, mountains is a mataphorical way of expressing difficulties, hindrances or challenges one is facing. While human effort may bring down a number of mountains, there are situations that such effort amount to nothing and one has to use greater power to remove them. One of such situations is contained in the testimony of a woman in one of our church programmes. The woman went to see her daughter who was to deliver in the hospital only to be greeted with the sad news that though her daughter delivered twins, both herself and the babies were dead!
The woman recognised that she could not rely on any human effort at that time to face the challenges and so she called on God and began to pray for the baby. After a while the first baby started crying and so she thanked God and moved to the next one. Some minutes later that one also cried out. Finally, she moved to her daughter and after a while she also began to move! You can imagine the celebration in the hospital! The woman had raised three dead people in a day! But the focus is not on the celebration but on her faith in God and understanding that the challenge facing her was beyond the effort of the doctors talk less of her. But she knew there was the greatest physician who is above all and can heal anyone and she called on Him and her mountain was leveled.
It does not matter the height of the mountain ahead of you, all you need is faith in the one that can level any mountain and having an intimate relationship with Him such that when you call on Him, He will answer and instruct you on what to do to level the mountain as in the case of the woman stated above. God stated in Zechariah 4:7 (KJV), “Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.”
God may give you specific instructions as you pray but once you have an intimate relationship with Him, you will hear the instructions and obey them no matter how they look! Every mountain facing you now shall be leveled today in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Cry to God and tell him the various mountains facing you and believe that you will get answers.
