Bible Reading: Numbers 37-38; Mark 6:1-28
“O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.” – Psalm 34:3
Sometimes, how we see God in whom we place our faith is what makes our faith ineffective and not the size of our faith. We do not necessarily need ‘big’ faith in God to please Him, we only need faith in a ‘big’ God to address any situation in life. The devil’s tactics is to always amplify the negative circumstances and situations in our lives and as we become fixated on them, that negative picture begins to shrink the image of God’s greatness in our hearts. Instead of focusing on the situations around you and complaining, start focusing by meditating on the greatness of God who is in you. “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” – 1 John 4:4.
Focusing on the greatness of God will grow your faith. This is exactly what the Palmist meant in our text. When you are faced with any situation in life, consciously magnify God and exalt His name instead of that situation. It is a conscious thing you can and should do. Meditate on: Who God is, His Word to you and who you are in Him.
As God is enlarged in your heart, unbelief dries up.
To have a bigger picture of God in your heart, you have to change what you are hearing about Him as faith comes or increase by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). The quality of life you live is directly tied to the quality of information that you have about Him.
To magnify God is to also glorify Him. Romans 4:20 says concerning Abraham that, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in FAITH, GIVING GLORY TO GOD.“
Keep your eyes on the Greater One in you instead of the problems around you and start glorifying God because He cannot fail.
Expect great miracles as you put your faith in a big and powerful God in Jesus name!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for the faith I have in You. You are bigger than any circumstance or situation I will ever encounter.
