“He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses”.–Acts 2:31-32(KJV)
The resurrection of Christ is the bedrock of the Christian faith and was prophesied all through the Old Testament. In John 11:25(KJV) “Jesus said unto her I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live”. Jesus made this statement before his crucifixion and resurrection. Speaking about the resurrection of Christ, the Psalmist said in Psalm 16:10(KJV) “For thou will not leave my soul in hell (sheol), neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption” We are justified by the resurrection of Christ. Jesus Christ was declared to be the son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. (Romans 1:4). By his resurrection, all that believe in him are also assured of the resurrection from the dead; “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection” Romans 6:5(KJV). Since death came as a result of the sin of man(Adam), by the righteousness of Christ, who took the form of a man also, came the resurrection of the dead (1 Cor. 15:21(KJV)). Paul further throws more light on the assurances of our faith by the resurrection from the dead in 1Corinthians 15:42: “So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:” The resurrection power is referred to as the working of God’s mighty power which He worked in Christ Jesus when He raised him from the dead. (Ephesians 1:20-21). The resurrection power will be replicated on the day of rapture which will be our resurrection morning for all them that died in Christ. It is no wonder then that Paul in Philippians 3:10(KJV) prayed“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,……..” Like Paul I also desire to attain unto the resurrection of the dead. (Phil. 3:11). How about you? However, resurrection will be experienced on the day of rapture by the saints only. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first”. 1 Thessalonians 4:16(KJV). I therefore deeply encourage you to give your Christianity a serious thought, with the intention of determining your position with Christ.
Prayer: Father grant me the grace to know Christ and his power of resurrection in Jesus name.
