…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 28/09/2017

Bible Reading: 2 Chron. 26; 2Thes. 3:1-9.

“But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV)

God Almighty is willing and ready to take evil away from us as long as we are ready to submit to him. He has given us choices to make. We have a choice to do things as we deem fit at all times without seeking the counsel of anyone. However the bible tells us that there is safety in multitude of counsellors ( PROV 24:6). So we can seek counsel of people or more importantly,  seek the counsel of God in everything we do.

Where we always seek the counsel of God, we will not only be established but will be able to accomplish what others find impossible. In one of our passages for today, King Uzziah of Judah prospered as long as he sought the Lord. 2 Chronicles 26:5 (KJV) says: “And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord , God made him to prosper.” God did not only prosper him but gave him victories over all his enemies and increased him in wisdom that made him to strengthen his kingdom.

However when he became strong, pride took hold of him and he transgressed the law of the Lord and the Lord turned him to a leper. ( 2 Chron. 26:16-19). You will not incur the wrath of the Almighty God all through the rest of your life in Jesus name.

As long as we seek the Lord, He is ready to protect us and establish us. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV) says: “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.”

However our God is also a jealous God. His protection from evil is for as long as we stay with him. If we decide to abandon him or become proud of our achievement, he will distance himself from us. We therefore need to seek him consistently.

Prayer: Father, please give me the grace to seek you for the rest of my life and keep me away from evil at all times in Jesus name.
