Bible Reading: 11 Chronicles 7, 8, 9; John 11:1- 29
“Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus” – John 11: 5 (KJV).
A blessed family is that family that is loved by Jesus Christ. However, that you are loved by Jesus does not preclude you from being attacked by the enemy but the good news is that, the presence of the Lover of your family- Jesus Christ, shall no doubt drive the enemy of happiness far away from your territory.
Death is not a respecter of anyone. It has since been re-writing the direction of many lives and continues till this very time. Hearing the news of death of loved ones could be very devastating and stir up sudden grief in our heart. Sometimes, we are tempted to think that since we serve God faithfully, we should be spared from all forms of unfortunate incidence. Please know that God, at times, allows things to happen to His blessed people just for Him to gain His final glory over the situation.
We read in the above passage how God loved the family of Lazarus. Yet, this Lazarus was attacked with sickness which eventually claimed his life. Despite the news of his sickness, Jesus Christ did not do anything, rather, He stayed two more days in the place where He had been. Never forget that God works with His blessed family according to His own timing. The Scripture elucidates, “He hath made everything beautiful in his time…” – Eccl. 3:11 (KJV). God is not under obligation to work in your own timing including what you felt could expose you to open shame. The disciples did not know that Lazarus had passed on simply because of the dimension Jesus employed to pass the message to them. However, when He discovered that they were not getting along, He told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead” – John 11:14(KJV). Ironically, Life is talking about death!
Folks, has any Lazarus died in your home? Do not worry, there is Christ, who knows what to do to bring about the restoration of that dead Lazarus, only believe Him. As He told Martha, “Thy brother shall rise again” – John 11:23(KJV). I am also saying your situation shall come back to normal regardless of the current state. Hold on to Him tenaciously.
Prayer Point: Lord, as a blessed vessel, release your voice of resurrection over the dead situations in my life.
