Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 7, 8, 9; John 11:1-29
“O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased, O turn thyself to us again. Thou hast made the earth to tremble: thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof for it shaketh” – Psalm 60:1-2 (KJV)
Our world that is closely connected by modern telecommunications and as being interdependent economically, socially, and politically is currently facing a serious economic challenge as a fall out from the novel coronavirus popularly known as COVID-19. The effect of this pandemic is heavy on the nations of the world and world leaders are busy trying to reset, readjust, and realign to cater for the needs of the masses under them.
In the midst of this, it is very expedient to know that the great weapon to employ as believers is the weapon of prayer. What we are currently grappling with is not uncommon to man. It happened in the days of old and those who understood the move of God at that time held His hand until there was result. How do I know that this has happened before? The Scripture for consideration today, bemoans the situation at hand which he believed resulted from God. The earth is scattered at the moment, it appears as if God is displeased with the human race, the earth is no doubt trembling in every aspect and her breeches have collapsed. However, the Psalmist called on God to turn to them again.
The above request is similar to what God told Solomon when he dedicated the temple he built: “And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a place of sacrifice. If I shut the heaven so no rain falls, or if I command locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people. If My people, who are called by My name shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land” – 2 Chronicle 7:12-14 (Amp)
There is no better time to call upon God to turn to us again than now. This is the time, if we would not allow the situation to get worse than this. Join the train now and cry to God on behalf of the entire world for God to intervene and since He has given us answer before the exam in 2 Chronicles 7:12-14, He will answer us.
Prayer: God of compassion, come to the rescue of our nation and the world at large.
