BIBLE READING: 1 CHRONICLES 26-27, JOHN 11: 18-46
Memory verse: “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” John 11:40 (KJV)
Our memory verse above is an excerpt from a story; a story of one of the greatest miracles our Lord Jesus wrought during his time here on earth. Jesus suspended the law of nature (death) and introduced the supernatural (resurrection). He showcased a dimension of Him people never knew about thereby confirming his word as the resurrection and the life. However, prior to the performing of that miracle, Jesus had something powerful to teach us which forms the basis of our meditation today. Jesus shows us that through faith we can do even the seemingly impossible. One thing worthy of note is that Jesus chose a situation that is beyond man to demonstrate the power of faith. Death is obviously the end of man and his efforts. Healing could come to sickness after sufficient treatment and medical procedures but once it gets to death, man gives up and resigns to fate. Jesus now shows us that even death can be reversed howbeit only through the power of our faith.
Every day of our lives we are faced with several challenges that seem to overwhelm us. Some of these challenges seem to have defied every form of solution we have brought but we must know that every situation has a solution. There is nothing impossible to the man who believes. “Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”. Mark 9:23 (KJV). Whenever we are faced with the seemingly impossible, it is a sign that our faith should come alive. Have a limitless kind of faith. Believe God for mighty things and not small things. He prides in doing the seemingly impossible.
Another seemingly impossible situation Jesus used to describe the awesome power of faith is found in Matthew 17:20 (KJV) which reads thus, “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you”. The miracle may be delayed but will certainly arrive as long as you remain strong in faith. God always seeks to show His glory in the affairs of men, however, He is only limited by our inability to believe. If you want to continually see the glory of God being manifested in situations around you, only believe.
Miracles, signs and wonders are not the exclusive preserve of bishops, apostles or pastors but for every believer. The realm of possibilities exists and can only be accessed by faith. Situations dead before now are coming back alive in the name of Jesus. Just believe in Jesus and his power to save, deliver and do all things, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37 (KJV)
Prayer: Lord, I believe. Do what you alone can do in my life. Show forth your glory in my situation.
