Bible Reading: Psalm 49 & 50; Romans 1
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” Romans 1:16 (KJV)
There are persons you have met in the past and now you see them in the present, and you cannot help but thank God for their lives. Some people were formerly in the occult, others in many groups involved in evil. They were firmly under the control of the devil, Yet, God brought them out by His power in the Word.
The gospel is the channel through which many come out of darkness into light. It is about what God, in His love, has done for man through His only Son, Jesus. He has extended that sonship to include us, with Jesus as our brother. All we have to do is look unto Him and be turned into his image. But the blindfold of the enemy is very much at work here in the lives of many (2 Corinthians 4:4). But by the power of His Holy Spirit, and by the blood of Jesus, men are now liberated.
Through the power in the gospel the enemies holding back many souls give way (Psalms 66:3). As they give way, light takes over, leading to translation from one kingdom (darkness) to another (light). As light comes, man begins to see himself clearly little by little and finds out he has been a living dead all the while. All the holds of the enemy were made stronger by sin. Only the power in the gospel can open our eyes to how our sinsgives the devil an in-road into our lives.
Paul spread the word and had to go back over and again to check on the souls he shared the word with, even at the risk of His life. Despite the power in the word, it is our duty to check on those we speak with to know how far they have gone. So, immediately you speak with and checked on any, direct them to a bible believing church nearby.
