Bible Reading: Psalm 126.127.128; 1 Corinthians 10:17-33
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31 (KJV)
Creation reveals God’s glory. Psalm 19:1 (KJV), “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.” Everything we see today were created by God and reflects His wisdom, power, wonders, etc. Man was created in His image and likeness and above all other creations are expected to bring Him glory if we are to continually reflect His true image and likeness.
Bringing God glory means doing all you do in honour of Him. This includes praising Him, worshipping Him and thanking Him daily. It means believing in Who He is like the three Hebrew boys. Being obedient to what He says. Confessing your sins before Him whenever you fall short of His glory like David did. God went on to say David was a man after His heart. Glorifying God is honouring God with one’s life. This is a lifelong commitment.
Jesus gave us one of the secret that led to His being exalted. He said in John 5:30 (KJV), “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” Jesus always glorified His Father in heaven by submitting His will to the Father’s. Christ’s every day word, thought and action were totally devoted to the glory of God.
Paul followed the example of Jesus and became like Christ in bringing God glory. No wonder he encouraged us to become imitators of him as he imitated Christ. So, do all you do to bring God glory and your life will be the better for it.
