BIBLE READING: ISAIAH 7, 8; EPHESIANS 2
“Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought, speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us” Isaiah 8:10 (KJV).
We live in a world full of evil and wickedness. Agents of darkness carry out their evil activities under satanic or demonic influence. As Christians, we need to be under divine covering every time. We need not be careless with our lives because Satan and his cohorts are on a mission to kill and to destroy. The bible makes this very clear that we have an enemy to contend with. The whole world lies in wickedness and so we need to dwell in the secret place of the most high and abide under the shadow of the almighty.
God secures and protects his children. We are kept by the power of God, that gives us hope in this evil world. God frustrates evil conspiracies and ungodly counsels. When the wicked gather to take counsel or to conspire against us, the Lord who watches over us frustrates their wicked enchantments and evil conspiracies. God nullifies their words with his Word and his Holy Spirit. This is the heritage of the righteous, for God has promised that he will contend with those that contend with us. He ensures that no weapon fashioned against us prospers.
The believer in Christ has no cause to fear because the Watchman of Israel watches over him. All we need to do is to anchor our faith in him and stay in the sphere of his covering, the secret place of the most high.
PRAYER: Thank you Jesus for frustrating the plans of the wicked.
