Bible Reading: Nehemiah 9: Philemon 1:1-8
“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” Philemon 1:6 (KJV).
God in Christ has made so much investment in the believer. The Holy Spirit that indwells us comes with so many gifts, grace and divine endowment.
In Christ, we have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places. The gifts of the spirit, the fruit of the spirit, natural giftings and talents, the divine nature, the imputed righteousness, the wisdom of God and the glory of God in us, all these are some of the inner wealth we carry.
Unfortunately, many believers lack the knowledge of the divine deposits in their lives. As a result of this ignorance, they live mediocre life, not able to access the unsearchable riches of Christ. God in Christ has emptied himself in us. It is as we grasp this truth by faith through revelation that we can truly access the inner riches at our disposal. These endowments are not meant to lie waste in our lives but to be tapped and enjoyed for good life here and for kingdom service.
To maximize our destiny in life, it is necessary that we have a clear identity, through understanding of who we are in Christ Jesus and what we have in the new creation.
Since the Holy Spirit holds the key to the believer’s inheritance in Christ, we need to develop intimate fellowship with him through prayer and meditation on the word. God has given to us so much in Christ. When he gave us Jesus, he gave us everything. This is why Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian church that the eyes of their understanding be opened so they can access their inheritance in Christ.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, help me to acknowledge the good things in me in Christ Jesus.
