Bible Reading: Ezekiel 35,36; 2 Peter 1
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:4 (KJV)
Among the many gifts given to us at salvation, divine nature is one of them. It is the nature of God Himself. But lack of knowledge of this gift has kept many believers in one spot making them live in their former nature. No wonder He says through His prophet, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6a (KJV). “My people,” implies; they ought to have known, having the opportunity, as the people of God.
Since like begets like, God gave birth to His own kind at salvation. We became a recreated being after Him who created all things. As a recreated being you now have the god nature. Your old life was replaced with the life of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) says, “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.” So you are now the God-kind on earth.
All these were made possible through the resurrection power at work in Jesus Christ. So sicknesses and diseases have lost their place in your life. You are more than a conqueror now because you carry God inside you. Obstacles begin to give way and doors begin to open for you. Things that have afflicted you in the past start giving way for you as you begin to bring others out of troubles.
But the devil is aware that not all believers understand their rights in Christ nor know who they truly are. So, he continues to cause them trouble and at the first words out of their mouth the devil smiles. Lack of knowledge is the bain of most Christians today. And even when taught they still don’t have enough faith to walk into the life that belongs to them. They rather cling to the former life of theirs.
Apostle Peter stated in 2 Peter 1:3 (KJV), “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” You need knowledge of God and His Son, Jesus Christ to walk fully in the God-kind of life you already have. You must also grow in faith to believe these promises and gifts. Faith is personal; no man can believe for you, for the just will live by his own faith.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes to behold all You have given me in Christ and I receive grace to walk in them in Jesus name.
