Bible Reading: Isaiah 44:1-28
“For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring” – Isaiah 44:3 (KJV)
We worry over the affairs of life as if our maker doesn’t know. We wonder when outstanding bills shall be paid, when we will find money to let accommodation, when we will be restored to health, when we will regain our fervency of spirit and vibrant prayer life, etc. Yet, the Lord knows perfectly our situations and all that we need.
We often get it wrong by confusing what we need for what we desire. A need addresses a problem of the moment, whereas a desire can be motivated by many factors, some of which do not edify. What God says He will supply is our need (notice the singular tense of the word need in Philippians 4:19) — one need met at a time. Amen.
God knows precisely what we need today and He will supply it. Be assured that the next need in line, He will also supply. Leave worry alone — starve it with your faith in God.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for meeting my needs today. I bless your holy name. Amen.
