Bible Reading: Exodus 22-24; Matthew 20:17-34
Memory verse “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: [8]For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
The memory verse of today gives us an insight into how things work in the kingdom of God. Even though He is the most powerful being in the world the manifestation of God’s power on your behalf is tied to your asking, seeking and knocking. He can do all things as the bible rightly say, but only by your calling on Him for assistance or help.
That is why prayer is a must; it is earth agreeing that heaven’s intervention is needed. God is a holy and righteous God who will not step out unless you call on Him. He sincerely wants to correct the anomaly in the world but would not unless we invite Him in. Remember, how Moses went into exile in Egypt for helping his supposed country men who later turned against him. He came into the situation uninvited and paid for it (Exodus 2). Because of His integrity God would only come to your aid if you ask.
Jesus was aware of the blind men in today’s bible reading. But it was their repeated cry for help that finally got Him to stop. Matthew 20:31 (KJV), “And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.” After stopping to check on them He still asked them what they want from Him.
Your repeated cry is a proof that you have hope and faith in God. Asking repeatedly is a kingdom principle that gets God’s attention in a matter. Especially now that we have the Holy Spirit in us, you continue to ask until you get that peace and assurance in your spirit that all is well even when the circumstances is still looking the same.
God has not changed. Cry out to Him today.
Prayer: Dear Father, I receive grace to work with Your principles especially the ones that has to do with prayer.
