Bible Reading: Psalm 129, 130 & 131; 1 Corinthians 11:1-17
“If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?” Psalm 130:3 (KJV).
From the moment Adam sinned, all men became sinners since we are Adam’s offsprings. We become guilty sinners before God. Our transgressions condemn us and separate us from a holy God. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and if God were to mark our iniquities not one of us could stand.
Like the Psalmist the people of God cry out to Him for confession and forgiveness of sin so that He can bless us. We all know He is faithful to hear our needy prayer and quick to answer our cries. He is so concerned about us that King David asked “What is man that thou art mindful of Him?” Psalm 8:4a (KJV). If the LORD should mark our sin with a strict and severe eye as a judge, to charge it upon the person sinning, no man could bear it.
But God in His mercy, grace, justice and love sent His Son to pay the penalty of every sin committed by every man. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Thank God for eternal forgiveness with our Father, through Jesus Christ the Son. Man is now more alive in Jesus like never before.
