Bible Reading: Isaiah 19-21; Ephesians 2
Memory verse: “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience” Ephesians 2:1-2 (KJV)
There was a time the Lord dealt with me on the issue of self-righteousness. Somehow, within me I had a strong dislike for anything fraud or not being straightforward even though I was not a christian. Each time I had anything to do with money I was very careful. This was because I grew up in a home where you do not take what does not belong to you.
Then I left home and met with Jesus and that power to stay away from fraudulent behavior was reinforced in me by grace. My first job was the first real test of my life as I was just starting out and needed money. All around me deals were going on with almost half of the company’s business being diverted or converted for personal gains. I became so disgusted with almost all my colleagues and friends that I started separating myself from them.
One day, I had an encounter where God revealed some of my weaknesses of the past, and even when I gave my life to Christ, how He helped me overcome them. Then He brought back to reality and showed me that I must not separate myself from my colleagues for it was His grace that helped me stay strong in that area. God laid it in my heart to pray for them.
My life changed that day because I went closer to them and found out there was a force at work making them disobey even when they don’t want to. That was when I understood there was a prince of the power of the air, a spirit that moves people to disobey God. Even though I was still very young in the faith, God linked me up with another brother who was more mature and a blessing to me in the faith. We committed all the souls in that company to God.
A lot of people of people are still out there being moved to disobedience by Satan making them do what they do not want to do. “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us“(Ephesians 2:4), is still quickening those you bring to Him in prayers.
Prayer: Father, we break every influence of the prince of the air around all you have ordained to be saved today in Jesus name.
