Bible Reading: Ezekiel 37, 38; 2 Peter 2
“But as the days of No’e were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man” – Matthew 24:37 (KJV)
Red alert according to Merriam-Webster is the final stage of alert which enemy attack appears imminent. Across the world whenever a disaster is about to strike a location, the government in most cases usually issue red alert warning essentially to prepare the inhabitants of the area to get ready for the impending danger. Foxnews.com reported that “Chinese authorities have declared a state of emergency on the country’s east coast in preparation for the mighty Typhoon Lekima approaching the mainland, bringing with it torrential downpours and potentially deadly winds.”
Just as the government authorities would not want disaster to overtake their citizens, God has given more than enough warnings to anyone who cares to listen. The question you should ask is what happened in the days of Noah? “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God… The earth was also corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, ‘The end of all flesh is come before me; the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth” – Gen. 6:9, 11-13 (KJV)
Noah, a preacher of righteousness indeed warned the people of the impending danger but they refused to listen and many of them were destroyed. “And did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of the eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly” – 2 Peter 2:5 (NKJV). The coming of Christ, the Judge of both the living and the dead is around the corner. Please, do not be caught unawares. May the Lord keep you from the impending destruction coming upon the whole world.
Prayer: My Father, create in me a watchful spirit so as not to be swept away with the evil in the current world in Jesus Christ name.
