ible Reading: Psalm 6; 1 Peter 5:8-14.”
“But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you .” – 1 Peter 5:10 (KJV)
God is love and he loves you so much that he gave his only son for you so that you may be saved from eternal damnation. This is why he caused Jesus to die on the cross to take away all our sins so that we may live. Hebrews 2:9 (KJV) says: “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” He went through the pain of crucifixion so that we may all be saved and he thereafter is exalted by God the father. Mark 16:19 (KJV) states: “So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God”.
So the way to the top for children of God is through the bottom. All the children of God will pass through challenges or afflictions of life before being exalted. There will always be a price to pay to win a prize with God. This is why 1 Peter 5:10 (KJV) puts it succinctly: “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you”. So you are expected to suffer a while before being established.
Whatever you have gone through this year and what you may still be going through, it is important that you remain steadfast in your love and service of God as he will make you perfect, established and settled thereafter only if you can go through to the end. God Almighty will deliver you and make you more than a conqueror. This is why you need to maintain your patience all through so that you can get the promise of God concerning you. Hence, Apostle Paul wrote in Hebrews 10:35-36 (KJV): “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. [36] For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” God will see you through to the new year in glory and will fill your mouth with greater testimonies in Jesus name.
However, it is important that you keep praying to God in any situation you may be; the situation can always be better. Remember the admonition of Christ to all in Luke 18:1 (KJV): “And he spake a parable unto them to this end , that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
Prayer point:
Father, speak peace into my current situation and strengthen me to remain steadfast in my obedience to your words in Jesus name.
