Bible Reading: Exodus 25-26; Matthew 21:1-22
“And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Matthew 21:13 (KJV)
There are so many reasons why people go to church these days. A few see church as a place where you connect with people. Others see it as a place where you do business deals. Whatever you do in the house of God you do for a reason. But note that God sees the intention and motives behind your coming to His house.
The house of God does get people connected. True, the bible talks about unity among brethren but this must be done in light of first coming to God. Anything Church must be God-First and then every other thing takes shape from that line. If any other thing is made a priority apart from God then nothing will come out from such endeavor. That’s the reason why many are frustrated. Others doubt there is God even after 10 years in the church.
Jesus points the way to go, “My house shall be called the house of prayer.” God answers prayers. God wants us to seek Him in prayers. Only then can our life be meaningful and church serve it’s purpose. But it only comes to down your intentions.
In this year 2022, ask yourself the reasons and the motives behind your going to church. Sort it out with yourself before coming to God. It is never too late to repent and do the right thing.
Prayer: Father, thank You for making a way to coming to You through prayers.
