Bible Reading: Exodus 25-26; Matthew 21:1-21
“And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” Matthew 21:13 (KJV)
How do you view your place of worship? How do you see the house of God? No matter the look of the place as long as it has been sanctified and dedicated as a house of prayer then you need to reverence it in your heart.
Many tend to look at the physical structure only and neglect the spiritual significance of the place of worship. The spiritual is what controls and cover the physical. Jesus Christ, our Lord, reminded us of what the house of the Lord is for in our memory verse of today and then went on to cleanse it. Matthew 21:14 (KJV) tells us, “And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.” The purpose for the house of God is to connect people to God through prayer and godly activities. These are activities that glorify God.
Jesus set us an example to follow. The house of God must be clean at all times. The heart of the worshippers must first be clean and aligned towards God and His house. Then can miracles be witnessed everyday as we worship God in total reverence. There is time and place for everything. The house of God is first for God’s business and not for money making as some still do today.
As you step into the house of God let your thinking be focused only on God, what He has done and what He will do.
