Bible Reading: Isaiah15:1-9
“The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand” – Isaiah 14:24 (KJV).
We map our plans and purpose our own program but we often fail to realize that we don’t have control of all the factors, God does. Wisdom therefore demands that we find out God’s plans and purpose in everything that concerns us because it does not matter how much pressure and effort we put into our plans and purpose, ultimately, the counsel of God alone shall stand. Our plans may be good but may not be the right thing that God has planned for us. It will be advisable then to recognize what God is doing at any point in time so we can align with him. Because God loves and cares for us, his plans are always the best and because he is all knowing, his ways are always right. We can find safety and fulfillment in his plans and purpose for us because, in his love, he means well for us. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” – Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV). The expected end is always the best for us.
The devil and his human agents may plan to undo us but God knows how to frustrate and abort their evil plans so his counsel for us can stand. God is not against us, he is for us; his counsel for us will surely stand.
Times may fly and turn of events may seem to suggest that God’s counsel will never come to fruition, but we must know for sure that time itself will serve God’s purpose because in the process of time, he will cause all things to work together to bring his purpose to pass. If we cooperate with God, his thought, plans and purpose will be to our favour, but failure to align with God’s will could make one miss out completely from his good intention. Our rebellion cannot hinder God’s counsel it will only rob us of the benefit of his counsel.
PRAYER: Dear Lord help me to submit to all your counsel in Jesus name.
