“ And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them” – Acts 4;23(KJV).
God never intended that we walk in isolation. His plan has always been a team work. Our body is a good example with many members all working as a team – “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love” Ephesians 4;16(KJV). Every member of the body is unique having different functions but all working in unity as a team for the good of the entire body.
Just like no member of the human body can function in isolation, our fulfillment and effectiveness in life lies in our networking with other members of the body of Christ. The company one keeps has a lot to do with one’s impact and fulfillment in life. The wrong company will sap you of your spiritual, material and physical resources while the right company will build you up and energize you to fulfill your God given destiny. Whose company do you enjoy? How do your friends and team members influence your life? Are they assets or liabilities? Do they add values to your Christian life or take away values? Who are the major influencers in your life? Do they increase your passion for God and his kingdom or do they ridicule your faith and commitment to God?
“Be not deceived: evil communication corrupts good manners” – 1 Corinthians 15: 33(KJV). There are constructive as well as destructive companies. Secret cults, gangsters, gossips, fraudsters and such like are examples of wrong companies. Be careful who you allow to influence your life. The company you keep should be such that will help to fan the flame of your love for Jesus, such that every second you spend with them will count positively for your destiny.
PRAYER: Lord, help me locate those who are assets to my destiny in Jesus name.
