“Keep therefore and do them ; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people”. – Deuteronomy 4:6 (KJV)
Obedience to the word of God implies doing what God says. It means doing the will of God as stated in His Word. It entails walking in accordance with the statutes.Such action gives wisdom and understanding.
God told Moses to tell the Israelites that the source of wisdom and understanding is obedience to his word. Deuteronomy 4:6(KJV) says.”keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people”.
Job 28:28 says the fear of The Lord is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding. So obedience to God’s word will give both wisdom and understanding as one will fear the Lord and also depart from evil.
However you cannot give what you do not have; so one needs to know the word of God in order to obey it!It is therefore pertinent that anyone seeking wisdom and understanding should study the word of God and then obey it.
To someone reading this devotional, God Almighty will show case your wisdom and understanding in your place of work as you study and obey his word.
