“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point , he is guilty of all.” James 2:10 KJV
Some years ago, while I was studying accounting, the slogan was fail one fail all. There were four subjects in each level and three levels in all. To qualify as an accountant, you need to pass all the levels. However at each level, you needed to pass all the subjects at that level. If you get excellent in three of the subjects, and fail the fourth one, you will get FAIL as your overall result. And you will need to take all the exams again and ensure you get pass mark in each of the subjects.
What did this do to those of us that studied then? We were conscious of the need to study every subject and ensure we did not fall short in any area.
This is what God expects of us as his children. That is why the bible says in James 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point , he is guilty of all.”
That is why we need to examine ourselves every moment to ensure we do not fall short of God’s expectations.
The question is how do I ensure there is no wrinkle, no spot or blemish in my body when I am presented to Christ as stated in Ephesians 5:27. The solution is in LOVE. You need to do everything out of love of Christ. If we eat out of love, speak out of love, give out of love, nurture out of love; our chance of passing all will be significantly enhanced!
So let’s do all that we do out of love.
Prayer: Father give me the grace to do everything out of love and thus live a life pleasing unto you in Jesus name.
