TOPIC: TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BY FAITH
Bible Reading: Job 4–6; Acts 7:20–43
“For every man shall bear his own burden.” — Galatians 6:5 (KJV)
Christianity is not merely a religion but a living relationship between God and man. Through the new birth, God becomes our Father, and His life is imparted to our spirits. This divine life enables us to live victoriously and exercise authority in every circumstance. As believers, we must understand that God has not left us helpless. He has equipped us with everything necessary for life and godliness and expects us to take responsibility for our walk of faith.
Many Christians wait for God to do what He has already empowered them to do. Yet Jesus taught a different perspective when He said, “Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart… he shall have whatsoever he saith” Mark 11:22–23 (KJV). Notice that Jesus instructed the believer to speak to the mountain. He did not say to pray about the mountain alone, but to exercise faith by addressing it. Faith accepts responsibility and acts upon the authority God has given.
This principle was evident from the beginning. “And whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof” Genesis 2:19 (KJV). God brought the animals to Adam and entrusted him with the responsibility of naming them. God did not do for Adam what He had empowered Adam to do. In the same way, God has given believers the privilege and responsibility of shaping the course of their lives through faith-filled words that agree with His Word.
The ability to live by faith has already been deposited within every child of God. Jesus declared, “If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you” Luke 17:6 (KJV). If faith can uproot trees, it can certainly overcome challenges, limitations, and obstacles that stand in your path.
Choose to take responsibility for your life by exercising your faith. Refuse to be governed by circumstances or the enemy’s devices. Speak God’s Word over every situation, stand firmly on His promises, and direct your life according to His truth. As you do so, you will experience the transforming power of God’s life working in and through you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of faith and the authority You have given me in Christ to take responsibility through faith in Jesus’ name.
