TOPIC: BLESS AND PRAISE GOD FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR
Bible Reading: Job 19–20; Acts 9:23–43
“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” — Psalm 34:1 (KJV)
Life is a precious gift from God, and every day we live is a testimony of His mercy, grace, and faithfulness. As we come to the end of the first half of the year, it is fitting to pause and give Him heartfelt thanks. The Psalmist declared, “Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen” Psalm 41:13 (KJV). Thanksgiving is not optional for the believer; it is a continual expression of our gratitude to the Giver of life. “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD” Psalm 150:6 (KJV)
No matter the challenges or uncertainties we may have encountered, God has remained faithful. We must never allow the cares of this world to silence our praise. The Lord desires that we honour Him continually, for His Word says, “If ye will not… lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name… I will curse your blessings” Malachi 2:1–2 (KJV). A thankful heart acknowledges that every victory, provision, preservation, and open door comes from God’s gracious hand.
As you reflect on the journey of the past six months, remember that it could have been far worse had the Lord not been on your side. Therefore, bless His name at all times and let praise continually fill your mouth. A lifestyle of thanksgiving keeps your heart focused on God’s goodness, positions you for fresh mercies, and prepares you to enter the second half of the year with renewed faith, joy, and expectation.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your unfailing love, mercy, protection, and provision throughout the first half of this year in Jesus’ name.
