Bible Reading: Psalms 66,67; Romans 7
“Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.” Psalm 66:3 (KJV)
There are so many powers at work today in the world. Majority of these are wrongly used to oppress and destroy people. No matter the power at work today, the bible makes us understand that power belongs to God (Psalm 62:11). Not everything that happens makes Him happy but nothing happens without His permission.
God permitted Pharoah and the gods of Egypt to use their power on His people in fulfilment of the prophecy He made to their forefathers. The Israelites were tortured and oppressed so much that they cried out for help. God, at the appointed time. came down and first dealt with or judged the gods of Egypt and then came down hard on Pharoah and the whole Egyptians. Only then could the enemy agree to let God’s people go. It is still the same today; until vengeance comes the enemy will not stop oppressing God’s people.
Jesus manifested power from God on earth and set many free from the hold of the devil. On many occasions demons see him and begin to submit themselves unto Him on their own accord! Look at the case of the mad man of Gadarene in Mark chapter 5; the demons speaking through the man “cried out with a loud voice and said, What have I to do with thee Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God that thou torment me not” Mark 5:7 (KJV). The demons practically submitted themselves to Jesus.
Jesus told us that just as the Father has sent Him the same way He has sent us (John 20:21). He was sent to set captives and the oppressed free and to rescue man (Luke 4:18). He walked in that course and manifested God’s power. Apostle Paul and others performed so many miracles and set captives free because they operated in the area that God wanted them to and so made His power available to them. On one occasion, even the demons in a man confirmed that they know Jesus and Paul (Acts 19:15).
God’s power is still being manifested today via His Holy Spirit at work only on those who walk in the course He sends them on. Jesus and all who manifested God’s power, even in the old testament times did so because they followed the path outlined by God Himself. Without power from God the enemy will never submit to you. So, get committed to God and His plan for your life today and agree with Him in prayers and fasting to make this available to you.
Action Plan: There is an area you have been sent by God to operate. Discover that area through total commitment to God in prayer and fasting. As He unveils this path, follow it through and you will see Him at work in your life.
