Bible Reading: Isaiah 53-55; 1 Thessalonians 2
Memory verse: “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? Isaiah 53:1 (KJV)
The word of God we share when we preach goes a long way in determining how the faith of the receivers come alive. Often times people preach and never mention Jesus nor the cross and what it did for man. Yes, wisdom requires taking into account the situation on ground but nevertheless, as long as you are out to preach the word of God, Jesus must be mentioned for the gospel is about His death and resurrection and salvation for man.
The gospel is entrusted unto believers by God. 1 Thessalonians 2:2 (KJV) says, “But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our heart.” The God who entrusted this message into our care tries our heart to see if we pass the message He gives us. That is why you must engage the Holy Ghost, the Lord of the harvest, who brings the word to the hearts of the hearers.
God is always saving people; It is His core business. Your role is to share the word of God from your heart as given to you by the Holy Ghost. It doesn’t matter who will be offended or not. Whether the audience is hostile or friendly, there is an intended target by the Holy Ghost with the words He gave you. You must faithfully carry out your duties. Paul was successful in ministering to people because he never tried to please any man nor use any word of deceit (1 Thessalonians 2:3-9).
Believers fall into the temptation to please other people by preaching only what will not offend. The word of God will only be effective when spoken boldly and righteously and as given by God. In 2 Corinthians 4:13b (NKJV), Paul said, “I believed and therefore I spoke, we also believe and therefore speak.” Any other word spoken outside your believe will lack the power of God needed to bring about salvation, healing and faith. Remember, the destinies of many are tied to the message you pass to them. Is this message of yours from God?
Prayer: Father, endue me with the wisdom and boldness to speak Your word irrespective of the audience in Jesus name.
