“If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy”. – Deut. 32: 41-42(KJV)
Our God is the God of vengeance. He said in His word “To me belongeth vengeance and recompence………” – Deut. 32:25a (KJV). The above scriptures talks about God rendering vengeance to His enemies and reward them that hate Him. Who are God’s enemies and haters?. These are the people whose actions contradict divine purpose and intention. These are human elements that challenge the prophecy and declaration of the Almighty. They are those who refused to obey divine instructions instead they do the opposite. These are they who reject God’s word and are in constant battle to frustrate God’s word. They are they that hates and fight against God’s children. These are the enemies and haters of God whom the Lord’s vengeance is directed at. Serving God entitles the believers to God’s vengeance against their enemies. The scriptures says in 2 Thess. 1:6 “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you”. Again the bible says in Psalms 58:10 “The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. God’s children can call on the God of vengeance to show himself on their behalf as stated in Psalms 94:1-2 Ö Lord God to whom vengeance belongeth; O God to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself. Being a child of God entitles you to His vengeance as shown in Exodus 4:22-23(KJV) “And thou shall say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: And I say unto thee, let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.” This is God position as it relates to His children from generation to generation. Hence that power that will not let you go to serve your God will be slain by the God of vengeance. For you the believer that is reading this devotional message hear what God is saying in Isaiah 63:4(KJV) “For the day of vengeance is in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come”. Until vengeance is executed deliverance will not come. So God is moving to execute the vengeance that is in His heart in other to complete your deliverance. Praise God!
