Topic: Praising the name of the Lord continuously
Bible Reading: Psalm 113-115; Romans 3
Memory Verse: “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.” Psalm 113:3 (KJV)
Several years ago, a man and a woman were to be joined in a Pentecostal church. The Pastor joined them and thereafter they danced to the church’s office to sign the marriage register and certificate when the husband slumped just before he signed the certificate. And prayers were raised for them for several minutes but he did come back to life. Several choruses had been raised in the main auditorium of the church and they were wandering why it took the newly wed so long to come out of the office and joined the church to complete the marriage ceremony!
After a while, the pastorate then asked the ministers in the church office to change from prayers to praising God and also intensified the praise and worship in the main auditorium. After some minutes of praise, the new husband sneezed and later rose to his feet. The pastor quickly rushed the signing and ushered them to the main auditorium to complete their ceremony.
What challenges are you facing that have defied prayers, you need to switch urgently to praising God. David was accustomed to praising God and he was lifted from the bush as a shephered boy to become the king of the whole Israel! Similarly, if you have issues that are long standing without solutions, you need to praise and thank God more. Also if you want God to answer your prayers before you call Him and hear you while you are still speaking, you need to switch to praising Him more often; make praising God your way of life. The psalmist says in Psalm 113:3 (KJV), “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.”
Also remember that Jehoshaphat was directed to praise God when he faced an army many times more and better than his. In obedience, he chose people to praise God on the battle field and all his enemies faced each other and destroyed themselves. What are you facing that are overwhelming to you, just thank God for all He has done for you and then begin to praise Him for His goodness and wonderful ways. And you will be amazed how the tide will turn in your favour because your praise will take you to the court of the Almighty God (Psalm 100:4). And in His court, you are a winner because He is your Solicitor and Advocate as long as you are born again. However, if you are yet to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you need to confess your sins, repent of them, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and promise to live a life of obedience to the word of God.
Action Point: Ensure you make praise your way of life from today.
