TOPIC: TRANSFORMED FROM GLORY TO GLORY
Bible Reading: Isaiah 39–40; Philippians 4
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” — Romans 12:2 (KJV)
At new birth, you experience the miracle of a new kind of life because you receive the very life of God into your spirit and become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). God, however, expects you to grow into the fullness of what His life in you can accomplish as that life begins to affect every area of your existence. Becoming everything God has designed you to be is a journey of transformation, and this transformation takes place as your mind is renewed by the realities of God’s Word. It is about learning to see, think, and live according to the realities of the Spirit rather than merely according to what you see around you.
The word transformation speaks of a change in form, appearance, character, and outlook. We see a powerful picture of this in the transfiguration of Jesus: “And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering” Luke 9:29 (KJV). An inward reality was manifested outwardly. In the same way, the glory of God’s life within us is designed to find expression through our lives and affect the world around us. Paul tells us that this transformation does not come from changing our outward appearance, circumstances, or environment, but through the renewing of our minds. It is a mind journey—a continual process of fixing our thoughts on God’s truth and allowing His Word to reshape our perspective.
Everything God has designed for you to become has already been made available through the life of God in you. His divine power “hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness” 2 Peter 1:3 (KJV). Your responsibility is to open your mind continually to the Holy Spirit through God’s Word, prayer, meditation, and focused attention on the things of God. As you do this, what has been deposited in your spirit becomes increasingly evident in your life. As 2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV) declares, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Therefore, keep your heart fixed on God and His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform you continually from glory to glory.
Prayer: Father, Help me to continually renew my mind through Your Word and yield to the Holy Spirit, and transform me daily into the image of Christ, from glory to glory, in Jesus’ name.
