TOPIC: WALK IN GOD’S PATH OF GLORY
Bible Reading: Isaiah 53–55; 1 Thessalonians 2
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” — Colossians 2:6 (KJV)
The Father has made it simple for anyone to become His child through faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. John 1:12 (KJV) says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” When we receive Jesus Christ into our lives, our Christian journey begins. By God’s design, our path is meant to shine brighter and brighter unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18). Our opening Scripture teaches us that the same way we receive Christ is the way we are to walk in Him and live the glorious Christian life. Romans 10:9–10 explains that salvation involves believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, [9] “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Therefore, just as we received Christ through faith and confession, we continue our Christian walk by believing God’s Word and speaking in agreement with it.
So, how do we believe? Romans 10:14–15 explains the process: people must hear the Gospel before they can believe, and preachers must be sent to proclaim the message. [14] “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? [15]And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” God has established this pattern so that people can hear, believe, and call upon the name of the Lord. This makes the ministry of the preacher vital, not only in leading people to salvation but also in helping believers grow in their faith. As children of God, we need to remain connected to a Bible-teaching church where the truth of God’s Word is faithfully taught. If you are struggling in any area of your life, it does not automatically mean that you are failing as a Christian. Rather, continue to seek God, study His Word, and receive sound biblical teaching that strengthens your faith and helps you apply His truth to your circumstances.
The way you received Christ is the way you are to walk in Him: by faith in the Gospel and continued dependence on His Word. The message you hear matters because sound teaching helps establish sound believing, and the Gospel remains the foundation of our life in Christ. As you grow in the knowledge of God’s Word, let your thoughts, words, and actions align with His truth. Remain committed to fellowship, prayer, and the study of Scripture, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide you into spiritual maturity. God has called you to walk in His path of glory, growing in faith and reflecting the life of Christ daily. Keep hearing, believing, and living out the Word, and let your Christian journey be marked by continual growth in Him.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ and for the privilege of walking in Him. Help me to continue in Your Word, grow in faith, and align my thoughts, words, and actions with Your truth in Jesus Name.
