TOPIC: HOLY LIFESTYLE
Bible Reading: Nehemiah 1-3; Acts 2:1-13
*“For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves…”* — Leviticus 11:44 (KJV)
Being holy means to be set apart, consecrated, morally pure, and devoted to God’s purpose. As believers, our lifestyle should reflect our identity in Christ and be distinguishable from the values and practices of the world. In these last days, when ungodliness is increasingly accepted and celebrated, God’s Word remains the unchanging standard of truth, righteousness, and holy living.
Jesus Christ is the perfect example of a sanctified life. Throughout His earthly ministry, He lived in complete obedience to the Father, demonstrated genuine love and compassion, honored God’s will in every circumstance, served others selflessly, and remained without sin. As His followers, we are called to imitate His example and allow His character to be formed in us.
Holiness is not something that can be attained through human effort alone. It is the work of God’s grace through the Holy Spirit. When we receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we become new creations. The Scripture says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV). The new life we have received empowers us to live differently from our former way of life.
Living a sanctified life requires the continual renewal of our minds through God’s Word and a daily surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit. As our minds are transformed, our thoughts, speech, choices, appearance, relationships, and responses to temptation increasingly reflect the nature of Christ. Holiness is not merely outward conformity but an inward transformation that manifests in godly living.
Choose to live as God’s ambassador, allowing His Spirit to shape every area of your life. Though the standards of the world may change, God’s call to holiness remains the same. As you yield yourself to Him daily, He will strengthen you to live a life that is pleasing in His sight and effective for His kingdom.
Prayer: Father, Help me by Your Holy Spirit to live a sanctified life that honours You in my thoughts, words, and actions. Renew my mind daily through Your Word, in Jesus’ name.
