TOPIC: REJECT SATAN’S MIND GAMES
Bible Reading: Nehemiah 9-11; Acts 4:1-22
“If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard…” — Colossians 1:23 (KJV)
The Gospel gives every child of God a living hope that is essential both for this present life and for eternity. It is the unwavering assurance that life has triumphed over death through Jesus Christ. Because of His finished work, we have the confidence that no circumstance, opposition, or trial can ultimately defeat us. The message of the Gospel continually paints a picture of victory for those who believe.
Whether we realize it or not, we are engaged in a continual spiritual conflict against the kingdom of darkness. Therefore, we must never lose sight of the hope we have in Christ, for our victory has already been secured through Him.
Writing to the believers in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul used the imagery of a Roman soldier’s armour to illustrate the spiritual resources available to every believer. He exhorted them to put on the whole armour of God because the enemy is persistent in his attacks. The Scripture declares, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” Ephesians 6:13 (KJV).
One of Satan’s primary strategies is deception. He seeks to slander God’s character and contradict what God says about you. He attacks your identity in Christ, questions God’s promises, and attempts to convince you that you are weak, defeated, or unworthy. His objective is to replace faith with doubt and hope with discouragement. For this reason, believers must guard their minds carefully. Ephesians 6:17 (KJV) instructs us to “take the helmet of salvation.” The helmet protects the mind, reminding us of the salvation and complete deliverance we have received through Christ. It guards our thoughts against the lies and accusations of the enemy and anchors us in the truth of God’s Word.
As believers, we cannot afford to live with a pessimistic outlook. Our confidence is rooted not in changing situations but in the unchanging promises of God. This hope enabled Paul, even in the midst of imprisonment and affliction, to declare, “For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:19 (KJV). His expectation was firmly anchored in God’s faithfulness.
Reject every lie, accusation, and negative thought that contradicts the truth of God’s Word. Stand firmly in the hope of the Gospel, knowing that Christ has already won the victory over sin, death, and every power of darkness. Keep your mind fixed on His promises, and let your thoughts be governed by the assurance that you are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the hope of the Gospel and the victory I have in Christ Jesus.
