Topic: Kingdom of God is within you.
Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 19-21; Luke 17:20-37.
Memory Verse: “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:21 (KJV)
Jesus has said in His word that He would send the Holy Spirit to you to teach you all He had thought. John 14:28 (KJV) says, “Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.” That Holy Spirit is not physical but spiritual within every individual disciple, in fact this had been said earlier by Ezekiel in Ezekiel 36:26-27 (KJV), “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
So as a child of God, you have the Spirit of God within you speaking to you and guiding you. Whether you submit wholly to the leading of the Holy Spirit or not depends on you and so you have a witness of every action you take so there is no hiding place. Everything you do whether openly or secretly is known by the Spirit within you and will testify on the day of judgment. Do you now realise the statement by the Lord Jesus in Matthew 12:36 (KJV), “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”
With that consciousness, how do you live your life? Is it not better to do everything you can to please God even if it means denying the flesh so that you can end up in place of glory as opposed to a place of torment. And the first step is simple; it’s just to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as the Lord and Saviour and thereafter live your life in obedience to His word in the Bible.
A lot of people are missing the opportunity of transformation by waiting to have the Lord Jesus Christ dressed gorgeously with pump and pageantry like the Pharisees were expecting but the Lord Jesus told them then that the Kingdom of God does not come with observation! (Luke 17:20). He further told them in Luke 17:21 (KJV), “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” So listen to the Kingdom of God within you as the Holy Spirit speaks to you from within!
Action point: Listen to the still small voice within you and continuously follow his leading.
