Topic: You can rise again
Bible Reading: Proverbs 22-24 ; 1 Corinthians 4.
Memory Verse: “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Proverbs 24:16 (KJV)
Peter was a closed disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and he made promises that he would never leave Jesus even if all others do. However, we saw that after the arrest of Jesus, he vehemently denied knowing Him three times as the Lord had prophesied. ( Matthew 26:33-75). Not only this, after the crucifixion of Christ, he decided to go back to his occupation of fishing and forgot about preaching the gospel. However, God is always ready to give us another chance. He reappeared, after His crucifixion, to Peter and a few disciples that went to fish with him and showed them how to catch fishes since they couldn’t catch any all through the night. By the riverside, they ate bread and fish after which Jesus re-commissioned Peter to feed His lambs and sheep!
So God is always ready to give his disciples another opportunity to rise again. Though Peter denied and abandoned the Lord Jesus, he did not forget him, rather he strengthened and encouraged him so that he was able to start afresh.
Whatever your challenges in life whether now or in the past, you can always overcome it and move to the next level as long as you are ready to ‘humble yourself and go to the Lord Jesus to repent of your sins and ask him to forgive you while you sincerely promise to start a new course of life in your business, career, family or ministry. The fact that you committed grievious sins, or backslided after accepting Him does not prevent the Lord from making you to rise again. He did it for Peter and will do it for anyone who is sincere enough to call on Him. Proverbs 24:16 (KJV) says, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” As long as you are ready to arise from your fall, God will help you. However you must be ready to learn from your mistakes by sincerely repenting from those sins, accept Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour, ready to study the word of God to know Him better and obey His words and trust Him at His words. Then you can be sure He will back you up and help you to navigate the future trajectory. As you call on Him, He will not only answer you but also show you great and mighty things you did not know. ( Jeremiah 33:3)
Prayer point: Father, raise me up from my present situation and take me higher in the mighty name of Jesus.
