TOPIC: FAITH FOR YOUR HARVEST
Bible Reading: Jeremiah 25–26; 2 Timothy 3
“For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.” — Mark 4:28–29 (KJV)
There is a harvest associated with every seed you sow, but sowing is not the only part of the process; you must also be prepared to recognise and gather the harvest when it comes. Many believers are diligent in sowing seeds through prayer, giving, service, and good works, yet they struggle to expectantly receive the fruit of their labour. Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few” Matthew 9:37 (KJV). Although this Scripture specifically refers to the harvest of souls, it reminds us of the importance of being ready and willing to participate in God’s work. Do not focus only on sowing; also remain attentive to the opportunities, answers, and blessings God brings your way.
Faith is important both when sowing and when expecting a harvest. Genesis 8:22 reminds us that “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” Therefore, approach life with hope and expectation, trusting God’s faithfulness while continuing to act wisely and diligently. Acts 3:5 tells us that the lame man at the gate called Beautiful looked at Peter and John, expecting to receive something from them “And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.” His expectation prepared him to respond when God worked through the apostles. In the same way, look to God with confidence, pray in faith, and remain ready to recognise His answers. However, faith is not a guarantee that every desired outcome will happen immediately or exactly as we imagine; it is a confident trust in God’s wisdom, and timing.
Jesus said, “…It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35 (KJV). This does not mean that receiving is wrong or that we should refuse help when we need it. Rather, we should cultivate a generous heart towards others while placing our ultimate trust in God, who is our source and can provide through our work, business, relationships, unexpected opportunities, or the kindness of others. Therefore, keep sowing good seeds, remain diligent in your responsibilities, give generously, and expectantly trust God for the fruit of your labour. Faith for your harvest means looking to God rather than depending entirely on people, while remaining open to the different ways He may provide. He is faithful, and His wisdom is greater than our expectations.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being my source and sustainer. Strengthen my faith to sow good seeds and to recognise the harvest You bring through diverse ways in Jesus Name.
