TOPIC: ACTIVATE YOUR DISCERNMENT
Bible Reading: Ezra 1-3; John 19:23-42
“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.” — Revelation 1:10 (KJV)
When we pray, we partner with the Holy Spirit, who is the custodian of God’s mysteries and hidden wisdom. As we commune with Him in prayers and meditation, the portals of our hearts are opened to receive divine revelation and the secrets that God has prepared for our advancement and His glory. The Scripture declares, “The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly” Proverbs 20:27 (KJV). God communicates with our spirit, by enlightening us from within and revealing His mind concerning every area of our lives.
The heights you attain in life are often connected to the secrets God reveals to you in His presence. Those who consistently seek Him with a listening heart position themselves to walk in supernatural wisdom and direction.
It is equally important to guard your spiritual sensitivity by living a life of holiness. Persistent sin limits spiritual perception and makes it difficult to recognize God’s voice. What was once clear becomes confusing, and divine instructions may seem distant or obscured. Yet God has not stopped speaking. When we return to Him with a sincere and repentant heart, our fellowship is restored, and His voice becomes clear once again. The Apostle Paul wrote, “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work” 2 Timothy 2:21 (KJV). A purified heart becomes a vessel through which God can reveal His purposes and accomplish His will.
Determine to cultivate a lifestyle of prayer, meditation, and holiness. Ask God not only to hear your prayers but also to open your ears to hear His voice, your eyes to see His purpose, and your heart to understand His will.
Prayer: Father, sharpen my spiritual discernment through Your Word and by the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
