Topic: You are bought with a price.
Bible Reading: Proverbs 30-31; 1 Corinthians 7:1-24.
Memory Verse: “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” 1 Corinthians 7:23 (KJV)
When you go to the dealers shop and buy a vehicle, you will be given the title to that vehicle and everything concerning that vehicle now belongs to you. If anyone needs to use that vehicle for any reason, he has to come to you for permission. Similarly, when you give your life to Christ, you belong to Him because He has paid a price for your life by laying down His own life on the cross over two thousand years ago. You should therefore not make yourself a servant of any other being. This is well stated in 1 Corinthians 7:23 (KJV), “Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.”
This implies you are free in Christ and you have Jesus as your master and ally and can do all things through Him. It is important to note the fact that a person has an inheritance of several millions in a bank does not prevent him from dying poor unless he knows that he has that inheritance and he draws on it for his use from the bank! It is true that your Master has made several promises available to you as His own but you need to make a demand on such promises.
The first step therefore is to know what those promises are and how to make a demand on them. The person mentioned above cannot make a demand by shouting on the streets or buying things without having a mode of payment. This is why the Lord states in Matthew 7:7 (KJV), “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
A lot of princes are walking barefoot and their horses have no rider because they have not taken the basic steps to know their rights talk less of enforcing them. To avoid this common error amongst children of God, you need to study the word of God yourself, understand it and use the vehicle of FAITH to make demand on the promises of your master as stated in the bible. While it is good to go to church, you cannot take full advantage of God’s blessings for you without taking your time to understand His words and get revelation of His promises to you directly. However, the first step is to belong to the family of Christ and that entails showing remorse on the sins you have committed, repenting of them and committing to a life pleasing to God by obeying His words in the Bible.
Action point: Commit to study the Bible for at least 30 minutes a day to know more about yourself, your creator and your future.
