TOPIC: GLORIFYING GOD WITH A LOUD VOICE
Bible Reading: Job 13–15; Acts 8:26–40
“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God.” — Luke 17:15 (KJV)
It is one thing to be thankful, but it is another to express that gratitude with your whole heart. Some believers have been taught to suppress their emotions as though true spirituality requires outward restraint, but Scripture teaches otherwise. David declared, “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name” Psalm 103:1 (KJV). God created our emotions to glorify Him, not to control us. When they are yielded to Him, they become a beautiful expression of worship, thanksgiving, and love.
Our heavenly Father Himself expresses joy. The Bible says, “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty… he will joy over thee with singing” Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV). Likewise, in the parable of the prodigal son, the father’s compassion was demonstrated through his actions as he ran, embraced, and kissed his returning son (Luke 15:20). These portrayals remind us of the depth of God’s love and delight toward His children. Genuine gratitude should engage not only our words but also our hearts, voices, and actions.
In today’s text, only one of the ten healed lepers returned to thank Jesus, and he did so “with a loud voice” glorifying God. His thanksgiving was visible, audible, and heartfelt. It is not only important that we give thanks, but also how we give thanks. Therefore, let your praise be sincere and joyful. Worship God with all that is within you and never be ashamed to express your gratitude for His goodness, mercy, and faithfulness.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, fill my heart with genuine gratitude, to praise You wholeheartedly with my words, my actions, and all that is within me. in Jesus’ name.
